Language is acquired through genuine engagement, not repetition.
Our Vision
Esprimo is an Italian language learning platform built on a simple belief: people learn languages through comprehensible input delivered in genuinely engaging contexts. Not through drills, streaks, or gamification — through stories, cooking, art, music, and conversation that hold your attention because they're worth your attention.
The name Esprimo means "to find full expression in something." It captures what we want for every learner — not textbook fluency, but real communicative ability and a lasting appreciation for Italian culture.
How It Works
Esprimo is designed for two kinds of learners: those working with a teacher, and those charting their own path. In both cases, the experience is deeply personalized.
A teacher might input: "Introduce past tense using food vocabulary. Student interested in Tuscan cooking and Renaissance history. Intermediate level." From that short plan, Esprimo generates a multi-day immersive experience — a story set in a Florentine kitchen, a guided cooking activity with Italian instructions, a virtual walkthrough of a historic site, an Italian song reinforcing the vocabulary, and conversational prompts for practice.
For self-directed learners, predefined templates and interest-based paths offer the same depth — built around what genuinely interests you, whether that's Italian cinema, regional cuisine, or art history.
The Five Foundations
Questions and answers in Italian and English — scripted conversations or open-ended exchanges that build natural communication skills.
Words, idioms, and phrases with audio — both new vocabulary and review cards, integrated naturally into the lesson flow.
Comprehensible input through listen-only, listen-and-read, or read-aloud modes — stories that teach while they captivate.
Real activities beyond the screen — cook an Italian recipe, play a game, act out a scene, sing along, or watch authentic Italian video.
A summary of what was learned, sent to the student or parents, with the option to record a voice or video message showing progress.
We're taking the time to get Esprimo right. Real ability, earned over time — that's the promise.
